Nobody hates AI more than corporate IT. To them, it’s not innovation, it’s a compliance nightmare with a chatbot attached.

To the boardroom, AI is “the future.” To IT, it’s a compliance nightmare duct-taped to a chatbot.

While execs are busy parroting vendor hype about “transforming the enterprise,” IT is in the trenches watching employees shove confidential data into random web apps and praying regulators aren’t reading the headlines.

For IT, AI isn’t artificial intelligence, it’s artificial insanity. It’s shadow tools nobody asked for, surprise bills from cloud APIs, and a whole new class of security holes dressed up as “productivity gains.”

Let’s be honest: IT isn’t anti-innovation. They’re anti-chaos. And right now, most of what’s being sold as “enterprise AI” is chaos on steroids.

While everyone else plays with shiny toys, IT is stuck asking:

  • Who’s going to secure this?
  • Who’s going to clean up the mess when it leaks?
  • And why does every chatbot feel like a lawsuit waiting to happen?

Until leaders stop drinking the Kool-AI-d, don’t expect IT to join the hype train. They’re too busy fireproofing the building.
